This text introduces the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship, a prestigious award offered by Zonta International to support women pursuing Ph.D./doctoral degrees in aerospace engineering and space sciences. The fellowship aims to increase women’s representation in the aerospace industry and provide equal access to resources and decision-making positions.

The Mission and History of the Fellowship

The Amelia Earhart Fellowship was established in 1938 in honor of Amelia Earhart, a renowned pilot and Zontian. The fellowship offers a monetary award of up to $10,000 and is granted annually to 30 deserving women in the aerospace field. It can be used at any accredited university or college offering post-graduate courses in aerospace engineering and space sciences. Over the years, Zonta International has awarded this fellowship to 1,305 women from 77 countries, totaling more than $11.6 million.
