African Journal of Health, Safety and Environment

The African Journal of Health, Safety and Environment (AJHSE) is an authoritative, multidisciplinary journal with an international scope. It is published bi-annually and follows a double-blinded peer-review process. The journal welcomes research articles, high-quality review articles, short reports, and letters to the Editor. It encourages submissions from researchers, scholars, scientists, and professionals in all areas of public health, safety science, and environmental sustainability. Once accepted, papers are promptly published in the current Issue and Volumes Table of Contents. The AJHSE is affiliated with the Applied Environmental Bioscience and Public Health Research Group (AEBPH RG) at the University of Benin, Nigeria, and aims to be recognized as a world-class research group.

Authors submitting to AJHSE are required to pay a submission fee of $15. Additionally, there is a publication fee of $100 for accepted articles.

The African Journal of Health, Safety, and Environment (AJHSE) is an open-access journal affiliated with the Applied Environmental Bioscience and Public Health Research Group (AEBPH RG). It started its publication in 2019 and is published semi-annually. The journal focuses on health sciences and follows a double-blinded peer-review process, which typically takes 1-2 months per article, with 1-2 rounds of review. It is licensed under the CC Attribution 4.0 International License.

Authors submitting to AJHSE should be aware that the review process is rigorous and thorough. They need to provide a working email for efficient communication, and delays in correspondence will not be entertained. The review process is conducted in three stages:

Stage-1: A preliminary review to determine whether the manuscript is suitable for further review and to check for plagiarism using Turnitin and other software. Some manuscripts may be disqualified at this stage.
Stage-2: Main Review – this is the standard review process, which is rigorous and thorough.
Stage-3: Final Review – Once accepted, the manuscript moves towards final review and publication.
Publication Ethics: Authors submitting to AJHSE must ensure that all co-authors have read and agreed to the content of the manuscript. Any experimental research involving humans must have the approval of an appropriate ethics committee, following the guidelines of the Helsinki Declaration. Similarly, experimental research involving animals must adhere to internationally recognized guidelines. A statement to this effect must be included in the manuscript submission.
