Our mission is to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world application by making African science and scholarship accessible, engaging, and impactful to global audiences.
We are seeking passionate and research-oriented Volunteer Science Communicators to join our growing editorial and communication team.

About the Role
As a Volunteer Science Communicator, you will play a key role in translating complex scientific research into engaging, easy-to-understand content. You will work alongside editors, researchers, and knowledge communicators to highlight groundbreaking African innovations, discoveries, and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

Research, write, and edit science communication articles and features

Translate academic or technical findings into engaging public-friendly stories

Conduct interviews with scientists, innovators, and policymakers

Collaborate with editors to meet monthly publication schedules
-
Participate in virtual editorial meetings, workshops, and mentorship sessions
Ideal Candidate

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Communication, Journalism, or a related field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong research and analytical abilities

Interest in science communication and African development

Prior experience in writing, blogging, or research communication (an advantage, not mandatory)

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
